A flexible kit is not automatically a substitute for every specialist. Agree on your actual responsibility before the encounter.
Write down your first responsibility for the next pull. Afterwards, check whether chasing personal damage distracted you from it.
Use similar equipment and the same available encounter when comparing classes. Repeat more than one attempt. Record control comfort, missed mechanics and whether the playstyle stays enjoyable after a mistake. Your favourite activity and available play time matter more than an unlabelled tier score.
